My name is Mark, and I am a Nottingham based professional drummer and educator.
My interest in drumming started in 1995 after going round to a friends house who had a drum kit. I instantly became fascinated with it. The skill and dexterity required to play had me in awe. I started having lessons with a local teacher in school, and then I went and studied music in college.
I have had the opportunity to study with some incredible drummers such as Jim Chapin, Mike Mangini, Thomas Lang, Massimo Russo, Paul Hose, Jay Postones, Claus Hessler and Craig Blundell.
I perform live regularly in the Midlands area, around the U.K as well as having performed in Europe.
I have played several great festivals including the YNOT festival in Derbyshire, Cornbury Festival, Warwick Folk Festival, Cropredy and Swanbourne.
I am DipRSL (RSL Awards), and ATCL (Associate Trinity College London) certified. I have achieved my Grade 8 through Trinity College. I still continue to study with Paul Hose at the world renowned MLC academy.
I own my own music school, MLC Academy Loughborough, a franchise of MLC Academy Group
Alongside this, I have written an 'Introduction to Music Production' course, an online course covering the basics of Music technology and production. Currently being used in Italy, the course will be available in the U.K in 2020.
Lessons with myself are fun, relaxed, and tailored to the student, from the complete beginner to the more advanced players. I can offer drum exams through Trinity Music college and Rockschool.
I am experienced in studio work, and I am available for session work. This includes studio or live sessions.
Current work includes:
I am Enhanced DBS checked (Formerly CRB check), Child Protection and PLI certified.
